Let \(X,Y\) be normed spaces . A continuous linear map between \(X\) and \(Y\) is called bounded operator.
The space of bounded operators between \(X\) and \(Y\) is denoted by \(\mathcal{L}(X,Y)\). With the operator norm it is a normed vector space .
Remarks
- The name bounded comes from the characterisation of continuous operators .
